Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2026 Run, Walk, Wag 5K honoring Mary Parker, our sponsors, volunteers, and community members! We had a great time, a perfect day, and we raised much needed funds to support Island Connections' mission.

Please join us for the 2027 Run, Walk, Wag 5K to be held on Saturday, October 2nd 2027.

Mary Parker

For seven years, Mary served as the Transportation Coordinator for Island Connections before her battle with cancer. This event is a tribute to her bright spirit and commitment to Island Connections' mission, Neighbors, and volunteers.

This race welcomes both runners and walkers, as well as well-socialized, furry, companions on a leash.

All proceeds from this event directly support our mission of enhancing independence for older adults and people with disabilities on MDI and surrounding islands.

The Course

Our scenic 5k course takes runners and walkers on a loop through beautiful Bar Harbor, with stunning views along the Shore Path and a stretch in front of the historic Bar Harbor Inn. Whether you're running, walking, or bringing along your four-legged friend, you'll enjoy a course that showcases some of the best views Bar Harbor has to offer.

The race finishes at Pat's Pizza, where free pizza will be provided for all participants - the perfect way to celebrate crossing the finish line!

For everyone's safety, volunteers will be stationed at intersections to help stop traffic as participants pass through. However, the course remains open to vehicles and other pedestrians so please stay alert and use caution throughout the race.
