We provide free transportation for older adults (age 70+) and people with disabilities who live on MDI or the surrounding islands

Rides to Medical Appointments

Check-ups with your PCP, dentist, or eye doctor
Physical, occupational, or mental health therapy
Dialysis, cancer treatment, and other medical procedures

Grocery Shopping

Rides to the grocery store
Online order pickup and delivery
Volunteers shopping for neighbors who are unable to make it to the store on their own

Meal Delivery

Meal deliveries from Meals on Wheels and Open Table MDI
Transportation of food from the Bar Harbor Food Pantry to the Trenton pick-up location

Trips to the Pharmacy

Rides to the pharmacy
Post procedure stops for RX pickup

We provide rides on MDI and to Trenton, Ellsworth, Bangor, Brewer, and Blue Hill

Please allow the following advance notice for us to find you a volunteer driver:

3 business-days notice for in-town rides
4 business-days notice for cross-island rides
5 business-days notice for off-island rides

Demand for our transportation services is higher than ever. If you are able to arrange transportation through family, friends, neighbors, or another resource, we encourage you to do so whenever possible.

However, if you do not have another way to get to your appointment, grocery store, or essential destination, please don't hesitate to call us. Providing rides to those who need them most is the heart of our mission, and we are committed to helping you maintain your independence and access to essential services.
